Der erste Transatlantische Flug von Norse hat stattgefunden - und man hat sich dann doch fuer JFK entschieden und nicht SWF.

Auf Nachfrage bei der Airline wurde mir erklaert, dass SWF nicht genuegend Fracht-Kapazitaet hat. Fuer Norse sei Luftfracht wichtiger Umsatzbringer und hilft dabei, die Ticketpreise niedrig zu halten.

The airline’s first transatlantic flight has taken place — and they ultimately chose JFK over SWF.

When I asked the airline about it, they explained that SWF doesn’t have enough cargo capacity. For Norse, air freight is an important source of revenue and helps keep ticket prices low.

Der Ultra-Billigflieger Frontier Airlines hat am 26. Mai 2022 zwei neue Nonstop-Verbindungen ab dem New York Stewart International Airport (SWF) gestartet: nach Atlanta und nach Raleigh-Durham. Zur Feier des Starts bietet die Airline Einführungspreise ab 69 US-Dollar nach Raleigh-Durham und ab 79 US-Dollar nach Atlanta an.

Atlanta wird dreimal wöchentlich angeflogen, Raleigh-Durham zweimal wöchentlich. Mit den beiden neuen Zielen bietet Frontier ab SWF nun Nonstop-Flüge zu insgesamt fünf Destinationen – ein Zugewinn an Auswahl und Erreichbarkeit für Reisende und Anwohner im südlichen Hudson Valley.

Ultra-low fare carrier Frontier Airlines launched two new nonstop routes from New York Stewart International Airport (SWF) on May 26, 2022 — to Atlanta and to Raleigh-Durham. To mark the occasion, the airline is offering introductory fares from $69 to Raleigh-Durham and from $79 to Atlanta.

Atlanta will be served three times weekly and Raleigh-Durham twice weekly. With these additions, Frontier now offers nonstop service to five destinations from SWF, giving travelers and residents across the southern Hudson Valley more affordable, convenient options.

Startup long-haul low-cost airline Norse Atlantic Airways has disclosed an initial three routes to the US. All are from Oslo: Fort Lauderdale, Stewart, and Ontario. The use of secondary airports is highly intriguing. Norse Atlantic is driven by filling the gap left by Norwegian, but will it avoid the same mistakes? Long-haul low-cost is difficult enough to make work at the best of times.

Das Foto habe ich eilig mit dem Handy vom Parkplatz vorm ALDI and der Route 17K aufgenommen. Eine Norwegian Boeing 737 (ich glaube, das ist eine 800 und keine MAX - bin mir aber nicht sicher) im Anflug auf SWF.
